Selecting
the right type of account
Before opening your FTP account, you should attempt to
determine which of our available billing programs is right for you. If you require help
determining which program is best, simply call us and we will help
you figure things out.
As you can see from looking at our FTP account
Service Fees, the
primary factor that should affect your choice of
hosting programs is the amount the network traffic that you anticipate you will need.
Many FTP services consume significant amounts of network traffic. It doesn't take
too may daily downloads of a typical program file consume a gigabyte of network
traffic.
To determine your estimated network traffic,
expressed in gigabytes, use this formula:
(File Size * Downloads Per
Month) / 1024
where File Size is the size of your file expressed in
megabytes, and Downloads Per Month is the number of downloads expected each month. For example, if
you have a 6.2 MB program file that you anticipate will be downloaded an average of
2,500 times each month then:
(6.2*2500)/1024 equals 15.1
gigabytes.
With this example, you would require about 15.1 gigabytes
of network traffic per month, which is probably best serviced with a
Bronze
account.
But I need quite more traffic than your Platinum
program provides!
Don't worry, EPI has pre-priced programs all the way up to 25 terabytes per month, and we can custom quote requirements that are larger.

to spread their traffic across geo-graphic areas.
